Tatu Meagher, Simon Fraser University, winner of the Fall 2022 BC Study Abroad: Stories from Abroad Scholarship

Study Abroad Destination: Japan

Tatu is a fourth-year SFU student majoring in psychology with a minor in health and counselling. One day, she hopes to work as a child psychologist or elementary school counsellor. Her hobbies are cafe hopping, thrift shopping, and going for walks in the rain. This year, Tatu was very lucky to have had the opportunity to move abroad for a study semester at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Her current goal is to encourage other students from Vancouver to step outside of their comfort zone and take the chance to apply for their own study abroad experience! Any student enrolled at a BC Study Abroad Consortium institution, who is enrolled in or accepted into a short-term, in-person or virtual exchange study abroad program is eligible to apply. Application deadline is Friday, March 4, 2022.

Stephanie is a fourth-year student from the University of Victoria, expecting to graduate with her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in Winter 2022. She is currently in Reykjavik, Iceland, completing her exchange semester at the University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands).
