Interested in travelling to Japan in 2019? BCIT’s Business Summer Field School is offering post-secondary students at BC institutions the opportunity to travel to the cities of Nagoya, Tokyo, and Yokohama for a short-term study abroad program from July 21 to August 10, 2019.

What’s included?

  • Two 3.0 transferable credit courses
  • Field trips to course-related sites and companies
  • Accommodation and breakfast
  • Cultural program
  • Ground transportation
  • Free time for own travel

BCIT Business Field School programs expand applied learning opportunities inside and outside of the classroom. Courses are led by BCIT instructors and supplemented with international guest speakers and guided tours. Students learn about international business practices by visiting multinational companies and are fully immersed in the local culture.

“Our field school programs give students the opportunity to study in completely foreign environments, providing enriching academic and cultural experiences,” says Mark Nakamura, International Programs Advisor at BCIT.

“When I created the field school program in Japan, I designed it with a focus on deepening our participants’ learning experiences by organizing a variety of activities that are directly related to the academic content.”

“The two courses that were part of the 2018 Japan field school encouraged participants to be more observant, mindful, and ultimately more cognizant of their practices of looking,” cites Mark.

In addition to Japan, the options for 2019 BCIT Summer Field Schools include Austria and Italy, and Spain.
