Tatu Meagher, Simon Fraser University, winner of the Fall 2022 BC Study Abroad: Stories from Abroad Scholarship

Tatu is a fourth-year SFU student majoring in psychology with a minor in health and counselling. One day, she hopes to work as a child psychologist or elementary school counsellor. Her hobbies are cafe hopping, thrift shopping, and going for walks in the rain. This year, Tatu was very lucky to have had the opportunity to move abroad for a study semester at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Her current goal is to encourage other students from Vancouver to step outside of their comfort zone and take the chance to apply for their own study abroad experience! I began my undergraduate university degree back in 2019, knowing that an exchange abroad was something I definitely wanted to do at some point in the coming years. Study Abroad Destination: Austria

Vienna is a city mixed with calmness and liveliness. During the days, the cars, bikes and trams move quickly throughout the city. Simultaneously people will be enjoying their coffees at a street side café with no intent on leaving soon.
