Michelle Davies, Thompson Rivers University, winner of the BC Study Abroad: Stories from Abroad Scholarship

Michelle Davies is a 4th year Bachelor of Tourism Management student at Thompson Rivers University. Born and raised in the interior of British Columbia, she has always had a sense of adventure exploring the forests, mountains, and lakes around her home. Today, her love for travel, learning and meeting new people has taken her around British Columbia, Europe, and Central America, usually with her mountain bike or split-board in tow. While learning languages has never been her strong suit, she believes they unlock the door to culture and understanding. She is looking forward to embracing this challenge head-on by spending the summer learning German in Germany before graduating in December 2018.  When she isn’t studying, working as a Co-op student, or travelling you can find her volunteering as a Study Abroad Ambassador Mentor, Future Student Ambassador or as the Social Media Coordinator for the Kamloops Bike Riders Association.
